![]() Of course, in an ideal world, a band would congregate in the studio to refine and lay down these tracks which, it was evident, would form the new album. The nucleus of several new tracks had been captured and these, along with some new Hopcraft and Rahman compositions, were developed. Those We Are Many sessions proved to be extremely productive, so much so that Hopcraft and Rahman returned from Brazil with more than duty-free in their carry-on. There they worked with the legendary bassist and engineer, Victor Rice, along with a host of local musicians to record their outstanding album We Are Many, a record described by yours truly on these very pages as “a glorious fusion of dub, jazz and electronica, shot through with the sounds of Africa and South America”. Despite logistical challenges, they have succeeded in recording a worthy successor to 2020’s We Are Many.
